حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْهَاشِمِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي صَالِحُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ وَابْنُ أَخِي ابْنِ شِهَابٍ كِلَاهُمَا عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَيَعْقُوبُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ صَالِحٍ قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ أَخْبَرَهُ قَالَ بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْه
ِ وَسَلَّمَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ حُذَافَةَ بِكِتَابِهِ إِلَى كِسْرَى قَالَ فَدَفَعَهُ إِلَى عَظِيمِ الْبَحْرَيْنِ يَدْفَعُهُ عَظِيمُ الْبَحْرَيْنِ إِلَى كِسْرَى قَالَ يَعْقُوبُ فَدَفَعَهُ عَظِيمُ الْبَحْرَيْنِ إِلَى كِسْرَى فَلَمَّا قَرَأَهُ مَزَّقَهُ قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ فَحَسِبْتُ ابْنَ الْمُسَيَّبِ قَالَ فَدَعَا عَلَيْهِمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِأَنْ يُمَزَّقُوا كُلَّ مُمَزَّقٍ

English Translation
Sulayman ibn Dawud al-Hashimi narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn Sa'd narrated to us, who said: Salih ibn Kaysan and the nephew of Ibn Shihab both narrated to me, from Ibn Shihab, from 'Ubaydullah ibn 'Abdullah, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما). And Ya'qub said: My father narrated to me, from Salih. Ibn Shihab said: 'Ubaydullah ibn 'Abdullah informed me that Ibn 'Abbas informed him, who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent 'Abdullah ibn Hudhafah with his letter to Kisra (the Persian emperor). He said: He handed it to the governor of Bahrain, and the governor of Bahrain handed it to Kisra. Ya'qub said: The governor of Bahrain handed it to Kisra, and when he read it, he tore it up. Ibn Shihab said: I think Ibn al-Musayyab said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ supplicated against them, that they be torn apart completely.
