English Translation

Ya'qub narrated to us, my father narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq, Muhammad ibn Muslim al-Zuhri narrated to me, from 'Ubayd Allah ibn 'Abdullah ibn 'Utbah, from 'Abdullah ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) who said: Abu Sufyan ibn Harb informed me about the conversation he had with Heraclius. The Emperor asked him about the Prophet ﷺ: "What does he command you?" He said: "He says: worship Allah alone, do not associate anything with Him, and abandon what your forefathers said. He commands us to pray, to be truthful, to be chaste, and to maintain family ties."
