حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ حَدَّثَنَا الْجَعْدُ أَبُو عُثْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي رَجَاءٍ الْعُطَارِدِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ
عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيمَا رَوَى عَنْ رَبِّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى رَحِيمٌ مَنْ هَمَّ بِحَسَنَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا كُتِبَتْ لَهُ حَسَنَةً فَإِنْ عَمِلَهَا كُتِبَتْ لَهُ عَشَرَةً إِلَى سَبْعِ مِائَةٍ إِلَى أَضْعَافٍ كَثِيرَةٍ وَمَنْ هَمَّ بِسَيِّئَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا كُتِبَتْ لَهُ حَسَنَةً فَإِنْ عَمِلَهَا كُتِبَتْ لَهُ وَاحِدَةً أَوْ يَمْحُوهَا اللَّهُ وَلَا يَهْلِكُ عَلَى اللَّهِ تَعَالَى إِلَّا هَالِكٌ

English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, Ja'far ibn Sulayman narrated to us, al-Ja'd Abu 'Uthman narrated to us, from Abu Raja' al-'Utaridi, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما), from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in what he narrates from his Lord عز وجل who said: 'Allah عز وجل wrote down the good deeds and the bad deeds, then made that clear. Whoever intends to do a good deed but does not do it, Allah writes it down with Him as one complete good deed. And if he intends it and does it, Allah writes it down with Him as ten good deeds to seven hundred fold, and many times more. And if he intends to do a bad deed but does not do it, Allah writes it down with Him as one complete good deed. And if he intends it and does it, Allah writes it down as one bad deed.'
