حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْمِنْهَالِ
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُمْ يُسْلِفُونَ فَقَالَ مَنْ أَسْلَفَ فَلَا يُسْلِفْ إِلَّا فِي كَيْلٍ مَعْلُومٍ وَوَزْنٍ مَعْلُومٍ

English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, 'Abd al-Warith narrated to us, 'Abdullah ibn Abi Najih narrated to us, from 'Abdullah ibn Kathir, from Abu al-Minhal, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived in Madinah and found the people engaging in forward sales of dates for one, two, and three years. He said: 'Whoever makes a forward sale, let him do so for a known measure, a known weight, and for a known time period.'
