English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, 'Abd al-Samad ibn Hassan narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Qatadah, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Do not go out to meet riding caravans (to buy their goods before they reach the market). And do not let a town-dweller sell on behalf of a desert-dweller.' Ayyub was asked: 'What does it mean for a town-dweller to sell on behalf of a desert-dweller?' He said: 'He acts as a broker for him.'
