حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَخِي ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عَمِّهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ ع
ُتْبَةَ أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَقْرَأَنِي جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام عَلَى حَرْفٍ فَرَاجَعْتُهُ فَلَمْ أَزَلْ أَسْتَزِيدُهُ وَيَزِيدُنِي حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَى سَبْعَةِ أَحْرُفٍ

English Translation
Ya'qub narrated to us, the nephew of Ibn Shihab narrated to us, from his uncle, he said: 'Ubaydullah ibn 'Abdullah ibn 'Utbah narrated to me that Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) narrated to him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent 'Abdullah ibn Hudhafah with a letter to Kisra (the Persian Emperor). He commanded him to give it to the ruler of Bahrain, and the ruler of Bahrain gave it to Kisra. When Kisra read it, he tore it up. Ibn 'Abbas said: 'I think the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: They will be torn apart completely.'
