Hadith #593

English Translation
Yahya ibn Ghaylan narrated to us, Rishdin narrated to us, 'Amr ibn al-Harith narrated to me, from Bukayr ibn al-Ashajj, from Kurayb, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) that he saw 'Abdullah ibn al-Harith praying with his hair tied up behind his head. Ibn 'Abbas untied it and the man stood still for him. When he finished, he turned to Ibn 'Abbas, who said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: The example of this is like one who prays while his hands are bound.' — Meaning tied-up hair prevents proper prostration.
