Book 28

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الأَسْوَدِ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ طَهْمَانَ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ أَخَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ، قَدَحَ خَشَبٍ، غَلِيظًا، مُضَبَّبًا بِحَدِيدٍ، فَقَالَ‏:‏ يَا ثَابِتُ، هَذَا قَدَحُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم‏.‏

Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that “Anas ibn Malik brought out to us a wooden drinking vessel, roughly clamped with iron, then he said: ‘O Ihabit, this is the drinking vessel of Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace)'!”

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ‏:‏ أَنْبَأَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَاصِمٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ أَنْبَأَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ‏:‏ أَنْبَأَنَا حُمَيْدٌ، وَثَابِتٌ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ لَقَدْ سَقَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، بِهَذَا الْقَدَحِ الشَّرَابَ كُلَّهُ، الْمَاءَ، وَالنَّبِيذَ، وَالْعَسَلَ، وَاللَّبَنَ‏.‏

Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that "I had given Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) every kind of beverage to drink using this vessel: water, date juice, honey and milk.”
