Ahmad Husain Deedat (1918-2005 CE) was a South African Muslim scholar, author, and public speaker of Indian origin. He became a prolific author and debater in comparative religion, particularly addressing Christian missionary activity in Muslim communities. He founded the Islamic Propagation Centre International (IPCI) in Durban. His widely distributed books — including What the Bible Says About Muhammad, Is the Bible God's Word?, and Was Jesus Crucified? — addressed Christian theological claims from an Islamic perspective. He received the King Faisal International Prize for Service to Islam in 1986. He passed away in 2005 following a stroke in 1996.
