أحمد بن إدريس الفاسي
Ahmad ibn Idris al-Fasi al-Hasani (1173–1253 AH / 1760–1837 CE) was a Moroccan-born scholar who became one of the most influential Islamic scholars of the 19th century. After studying in Fez, he traveled to Cairo and eventually settled in the Hijaz and Yemen. He emphasized direct study of hadith and Quran over medieval school texts, and his approach attracted many students who went on to found movements in Sudan (Muhammad al-Mirghani, Khatmiyya), Libya (Muhammad al-Sanusi, Sanusiyya), and Somalia. He is not associated with tariqah innovation but with hadith-focused scholarly renewal.
