Akbar Shah Najeebabadi

Akbar Shah Khan Najeebabadi (1856-1938 CE) was an Indian Islamic historian and scholar from Najeebabad in Uttar Pradesh. He is best known for his comprehensive multi-volume Urdu history of Islam, translated into English by Maulana Abdur Rahman Anwar as History of Islam. The work covers Islamic history from the time of the Prophet through the major Islamic caliphates and dynasties, drawing on classical Arabic historical sources. The English translation has become a widely used reference for English-speaking Muslims seeking a traditional overview of Islamic history.
