الدارمي
Abu Muhammad Abdallah ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Darimi al-Samarqandi (181-255H) was a major hadith scholar of Khorasan. He compiled the Sunan al-Darimi (also called Musnad al-Darimi), which is sometimes counted as one of the seven major canonical collections. He was a teacher of Imam al-Bukhari and Muslim and was known for extreme piety — declining positions of power he was offered. He traveled extensively for hadith, studying under al-Shafi'i, Ahmad ibn Hanbal, and other leading scholars of his era. His Sunan is notable for beginning with a chapter on the importance of knowledge.
