أبو القاسم الخرقي
Imam
Umar ibn al-Husayn al-Khiraqi (267–334 AH / 880–945 CE) was a Baghdadi Hanbali scholar who is credited with being the first to systematically compile the positions of the Hanbali school in written legal form. His al-Mukhtasar (Compendium) was the first comprehensive Hanbali fiqh manual and became the foundation upon which later Hanbali scholars built. Ibn Qudama's famous al-Mughni is written as a commentary on al-Khiraqi's al-Mukhtasar. By reducing the oral teachings of the school to written form, al-Khiraqi preserved and systematized the Hanbali tradition.
