الإمام المازري
Imam
Muhammad ibn Ali al-Maziri (453–536 AH / 1059–1141 CE) was the foremost Maliki scholar in North Africa and Sicily of the 6th century AH, called 'Imam al-Aimmah' (Imam of Imams). His major work, al-Mu'lim bi Fawa'id Muslim, is the earliest and one of the most authoritative commentaries on Sahih Muslim. He was also a physician and is credited with remarkable medical observations. Born in Sicily (under Islamic rule at the time), he later settled in al-Mahdiyyah in Tunisia. He taught al-Qadi Iyad and other major scholars who would carry the Maliki tradition.
