المقداد بن عمرو
al-Miqdad ibn Amr ibn Tha'labah al-Bahrani (died 33 AH), known as al-Miqdad ibn al-Aswad, was one of the first seven persons to publicly declare Islam and the only horseman at the Battle of Badr. Before Badr, when the Prophet ﷺ consulted his companions, al-Miqdad declared: 'O Messenger of Allah, go where your Lord has commanded you and we will be with you. By Allah, we will not say as the Children of Israel said to Moses: Go you and your Lord and fight, while we remain sitting here. Rather, we will fight on your right and your left, in front of you and behind you.' This pledge is preserved in both al-Bukhari and Muslim.
