المقداد بن الأسود
al-Miqdad ibn Amr ibn Tha'laba al-Bahrani, known as al-Miqdad ibn al-Aswad (died 33 AH), was among the first seven persons to embrace Islam and one of the earliest companions to display loyalty to the Prophet ﷺ. He was the only horseman at the Battle of Badr and gave the famous pledge before Badr: 'We will not say as the Children of Israel said... We will fight on your right and your left.' He was among the most loyal companions to Ali ibn Abi Talib. He was noted for the Prophet's special mention of him and his role as one of the earliest and most faithful Muslims.
