أحمد الصاوي المالكي
Shaykh
Ahmad ibn Muhammad al-Sawi al-Maliki (1175–1241 AH / 1761–1825 CE) was a major Egyptian Maliki scholar who taught at al-Azhar. He is known for his scholarly glosses (hawashi) on the major Maliki texts. His Hashiyat al-Sawi ala al-Sharh al-Saghir (known as Bulghat al-Salik) is a widely-used commentary on Khalil's text. He was among the most respected Maliki authorities of 13th-century AH Egypt and trained many students who went on to teach at al-Azhar.
