الشهدة الكاتبة
Fatimah bint Ahmad ibn Yahya al-Dinawari al-Baghdadiyyah, known as al-Shuhda al-Katibah (the Calligraphist), was one of the most celebrated female hadith scholars of the medieval period. She was called 'Fakhr al-Nisa'' (the Pride of Women) and 'Bukhari al-Asr' (the Bukhari of her era) for her mastery of hadith. She held public hadith sessions in Baghdad with thousands of students attending, including major scholars. She was given an ijazah by her father and transmitted hadith chains that many scholars sought for their high isnad. She died in Baghdad in 574 AH.
