Aminah bint Wahb

Aminah bint Wahb al-Zuhri was the mother of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and a woman of noble lineage from the Quraysh tribe. She married Abdullah ibn Abd al-Muttalib, the Prophet's father, who died before the Prophet was born. Aminah died when Muhammad ﷺ was approximately six years old, while returning from a visit to her family in Yathrib (Madinah). She passed away at a place called al-Abwa'. Her death left the young Muhammad ﷺ an orphan, which is referenced in the Quran (93:6): 'Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge?'
