Umm Habiba Ramla bint Abi Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with her) was a wife of the Prophet ﷺ and one of the Mothers of the Believers. She was the daughter of Abu Sufyan ibn Harb, who was at the time the leader of Qurayshi opposition to Islam. She was among the earliest Muslims, emigrating to Abyssinia with her first husband Ubaydullah ibn Jahsh, who subsequently apostasized and died there as a Christian, leaving her a widow in a foreign land. The Prophet ﷺ arranged their marriage through the Abyssinian King Negus (al-Najashi), who acted as the Prophet's proxy in the ceremony — one of the few such remote marriages in early Islamic history. She narrated approximately sixty-five hadiths from the Prophet ﷺ on topics including prayer, fasting, and marital conduct. After the Prophet's death she remained in Medina. She passed away around 44 AH. Her narrations are found in Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, and the major Sunan collections.
