حسن أيوب
Hasan Muhammad Ayyub (1351-1429 AH / 1932-2008 CE) was an Egyptian Islamic scholar and prolific author who specialized in presenting Islamic knowledge in an accessible format for the general Muslim public. He studied at al-Azhar University and taught Islamic studies, becoming one of the most widely published Islamic writers of the late 20th century.
Ayyub is best known for his al-Fiqh al-Muyassar (Simplified Jurisprudence), a series of accessible works presenting Islamic law in clear, modern Arabic across multiple volumes covering worship, personal and family law, and commercial and social transactions. These books became widely used educational materials for Muslims who wanted to learn about Islamic obligations and practices without requiring advanced scholarly preparation.
He also authored Sirat an-Nabi al-Amin (The Biography of the Trustworthy Prophet ﷺ), an accessible Seerah work; Akhlaq al-Mu'min (The Ethics of the Believer); at-Tafsir al-Muyassar (Simplified Tafsir); and many other works addressing various aspects of Islamic practice, ethics, and history. His books are characterized by their clear language, practical orientation, and accessibility to non-specialist readers.
While his works are not advanced scholarly references, they served an important educational function in making Islamic knowledge accessible to the Arabic-reading Muslim public. His al-Fiqh al-Muyassar series in particular was widely distributed and used in mosques, Islamic centers, and private study across the Arab world. He passed away in 2008, leaving a body of work that served the practical Islamic education of ordinary Muslims.
