Biography

Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Futuhi, known as Ibn al-Najjar (898–972 AH / 1498–1564 CE), was a Hanbali scholar of Cairo. His Muntaha al-Iradat fi Jam' al-Muqni' ma al-Tanqih wa Ziyada became one of the most important reference texts of the later Hanbali school in the Hijaz alongside al-Iqna'. He synthesized the major Hanbali positions and served as the basis for several major later commentaries.
