Ibn al-Qasim al-Maliki

Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Qasim al-Utqi al-Masri was the most important Egyptian student of Imam Malik and the primary transmitter of the Maliki school in North Africa. He sat in Malik's circle for twenty years and his transmissions of Malik's legal opinions (in the Mudawwana) became the backbone of Maliki jurisprudence.
