Khalid Muhammad Khalid

Khalid Muhammad Khalid (1920-1996 CE) was a prominent Egyptian Islamic author and writer, one of the most widely read Arabic authors of the twentieth century. Born in Munuf, Egypt, he studied at al-Azhar. He underwent a journey from early liberal positions to a deeply Islamic worldview. He is best known for Men Around the Messenger (Rijal Hawla al-Rasul), presenting vivid biographical portraits of major companions based on classical sources, translated into English. He also wrote The Successors of the Messenger (Khulafa al-Rasul) on the four rightly guided caliphs.
