طلحة بن عبيد الله
Talha ibn 'Ubayd Allah al-Taymi al-Qurayshi was one of the most honored Companions, among the 'Ashara Mubashshara (Ten Given Glad Tidings of Paradise). He was among the earliest converts to Islam and suffered greatly for it. At the Battle of Uhud, he stood firm in protecting the Prophet ﷺ when others fled, receiving over 70 wounds and having his hand permanently paralyzed. The Prophet ﷺ named him 'Talha the Generous' (Talha al-Khayr) for his extraordinary generosity — he was famously wealthy and would give away large fortunes. He was killed at the Battle of the Camel (36 AH) near Basra.
