أم كلثوم بنت أبي بكر
Umm Kulthum bint Abi Bakr al-Siddiq was the daughter of the first caliph Abu Bakr. She was born after the death of the Prophet ﷺ, which makes her a Tabi'iyyah rather than a Sahabiyah — she received Islamic knowledge from companions but did not personally see the Prophet. She grew up in the household of Islam's most prominent family, with her mother Asma bint Umays eventually marrying Ali ibn Abi Talib after Abu Bakr's death. Umm Kulthum married Talha ibn Ubaydullah, one of the Ten Promised Paradise and one of the most distinguished companions. When Talha was killed at the Battle of the Camel (Battle of Jamal) in 36 AH — fighting on the side opposite Ali — she was widowed. She was known for her intelligence, eloquence, and deep knowledge of Islamic matters. She narrated hadiths that she had heard from the companions, including her father's household. Note: this person is entirely distinct from Umm Kulthum bint Muhammad (the Prophet's daughter who married Uthman ibn Affan).
