أم سلمة
Umm Salama Hind bint Abi Umayyah al-Makhzumiyyah (d. 62H) was one of the most learned and wisest of the Mothers of the Believers. She and her first husband Abu Salama were among the earliest Muslims and emigrated to Abyssinia then Madinah. After Abu Salama's death from wounds at Uhud, she was proposed to by Abu Bakr, then Umar, but declined, until the Prophet himself proposed and she accepted. She was known for her wisdom and often consulted on matters of significance — it was she who, after the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, advised the Prophet on how to handle the companions' reluctance to shave. She transmitted nearly 400 hadiths.
