The Farewell Sermon (Khutbat al-Wada')

On the Day of Arafat, the Prophet ﷺ delivered his monumental Farewell Sermon to over 100,000 people. He declared the sanctity of life, property, and honor; abolished usury and blood feuds of pre-Islamic times; commanded good treatment of women; affirmed racial equality: 'No Arab has superiority over a non-Arab except by piety'; and left the Quran as the ultimate guide. He asked: 'Have I conveyed the message?' and the crowd thundered: 'Yes!' He said: 'O Allah, bear witness.'
