Year of Sorrow

The Prophet ﷺ lost both his beloved wife Khadijah and his uncle and protector Abu Talib within weeks of each other. Khadijah had been his greatest supporter for 25 years, the first believer, and his confidante. Abu Talib, though he did not accept Islam, had shielded the Prophet from Quraysh's worst violence. Their deaths left the Prophet without his closest emotional support and his tribal protection, making this the most devastating period of his life.
