Hadith #2781
Arabic Text
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي ظَبْيَانَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ : أَتَى رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي عَامِرٍ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" أَلَا أُرِيكَ آيَةً "، قَالَ : بَلَى، قَالَ : " فَاذْهَبْ فَادْعُ
تِلْكَ النَّخْلَةَ "، فَدَعَاهَا فَجَاءَتْ تَنْقُزُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ، قَالَ : قُلْ لَهَا تَرْجِعْ، قَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " ارْجِعِي "، فَرَجَعَتْ حَتَّى عَادَتْ إِلَى مَكَانِهَا، فَقَالَ : يَا بَنِي عَامِرٍ، مَا رَأَيْتُ رَجُلًا كَالْيَوْمِ أَسْحَرَ مِنْهُ !

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) that a man from the Banu Amir came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'I will show you a sign.' He looked to a palm tree and said: Call that tree to come to you. He called it and it came dragging its roots until it stood before the Prophet ﷺ. Then the Prophet ﷺ said: Return to your place. It returned to its place. The man of Banu Amir said: O Banu Amir, I have never seen a greater magician than today!
