أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ : يَخْط
ُبُ إِلَى جِذْعٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَتَّخِذَ الْمِنْبَرَ، فَلَمَّا اتَّخَذَ الْمِنْبَرَ وَتَحَوَّلَ إِلَيْهِ، حَنَّ الْجِذْعُ، فَاحْتَضَنَهُ، فَسَكَنَ "، وَقَالَ :" لَوْ لَمْ أَحْتَضِنْهُ، لَحَنَّ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ "، أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، بِمِثْلِهِ

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) that the Prophet ﷺ used to deliver sermons leaning against a tree trunk before the pulpit was made. When the pulpit was made, the tree trunk cried out with a voice that the whole mosque heard until the Prophet ﷺ descended from the pulpit and embraced it and it fell silent.
