أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَسَّانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ : قَامَتْ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ نِسَاءِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاغْتَسَلَتْ فِي ج

َفْنَةٍ مِنْ جَنَابَةٍ، فَقَامَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى فَضْلِهَا يَسْتَحِمُّ، فَقَالَتْ : إِنِّي قَدْ اغْتَسَلْتُ فِيهِ قَبْلَكَ؟، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ عَلَى الْمَاءِ جَنَابَةٌ "، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْيدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَن ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْوَهُ

English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) that one of the wives of the Prophet ﷺ stood up and performed ghusl from janabah in a large bowl. The Prophet ﷺ came and performed ablution or ghusl from it. She said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I was junub.' He said: 'Water does not become junub.'
