Hadith #1611
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم
َ أَدْرَكَ شَيْخًا يَمْشِي بَيْنَ ابْنَيْهِ، فَقَالَ : " مَا شَأْنُ هَذَا الشَّيْخِ؟ "، فَقَالَ ابْنَاهُ : نَذَرَ أَنْ يَمْشِيَ، فَقَالَ :" ارْكَبْ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَنِيٌّ عَنْكَ وَعَنْ نَذْرِكَ "

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came across an old man being supported between his two sons. He said: 'What is the matter with this old man?' His two sons said: 'He vowed to walk.' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Ride, for Allah is in no need of you and of your vow.'
