English Translation
It was narrated from Mu'adh ibn Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) that when he returned from al-Sham he prostrated to the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet said: 'What is this, O Mu'adh?' He said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I went to al-Sham and saw them prostrating to their leaders, and I wished to do so for you.' He said: 'If I were to order anyone to prostrate to anyone, I would have ordered women to prostrate to their husbands, because of the great rights they have over them.'
