حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّه : " أَنَّهُ أُتِيَ فِي إِخْ
وَةٍ لِأُمٍّ، وَأُمٍّ،فَأَعْطَى الْإِخْوَةَ مِنَ الْأُمِّ الثُّلُثَ، وَالْأُمَّ سَائِرَ الْمَالِ، وَقَالَ : الْأُمُّ عَصَبَةُ مَنْ لَا عَصَبَةَ لَهُ "

English Translation
It was narrated from Alqama, from Abdullah (ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him), that he was brought a case of uterine brothers and a mother. He gave the uterine brothers a third and gave the mother the rest of the estate. And he said: 'The mother is the residual heir of whoever has no residual heir.'
