English Translation

It was narrated from al-Sha'bi that Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) used not to return (rad) the remainder to a uterine brother when there was a mother, nor to a grandmother when there were other heirs with fixed shares alongside her, nor to a granddaughter alongside a daughter, nor to a wife or husband.
