حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ

: أَنَّ عَلِيًّا ، وَزَيْدًا قَالَا :" الْوَلَاءُ لِلْكُبْر ". وَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، وَشُرَيْحٌ : لِلْوَرَثَةِ

English Translation
It was narrated from al-Sha'bi that Ali and Zayd (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: 'The right of walaa' belongs to the eldest (al-kubr).' Abdullah (ibn Mas'ud) and Shurayh said: It belongs to the (collective) heirs.
