حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ : " فِي مَمْلُوكٍ تُوُفِّيَ وَلَهُ أَبٌ ح

ُرٌّ، وَلَهُ بَنُونَ مِنْ امْرَأَةٍ حُرَّةٍ، لِمَنْ وَلَاءُ وَلَدِهِ؟ قَالَ :لِمَوَالِي الْجَدِّ "

English Translation

It was narrated from 'Amir (al-Sha'bi) that he was asked about a slave who died having a free father and sons from a free woman: to whom does the walaa' of the sons belong? He said: "To the masters of the grandfather (i.e., the slave's father's masters)."
