Chain of Narration (Isnad)
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ :" إِنَّمَا كَانُوا يُوصُونَ بِالْخُ
Body (Matn)
مُسِ وَالرُّبُعِ، وَكَانَ الثُّلُثُ مُنْتَهَى الْجَامِحِ. قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد : يَعْنِي بِالْجَامِحِ : الْفَرَسَ الْجَمُوحَ
English Translation
It was narrated from 'Amir (al-Sha'bi) that he said: "They used to bequeath one-fifth or one-quarter, and one-third was the upper limit of the most generous." Abu Muhammad (al-Darimi) explained: he meant by 'al-jamih' (the most generous): the headstrong horse.
