حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنِي سَيَّارُ بْنُ أَبِي كَرِبٍ : " أَنَّ
آتِيًا أَتَى شُرَيْحًا ، فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ رَجُلٍ أَوْصَى بِسَهْمٍ مِنْ مَالِهِ، قَالَ :تُحْسَبُ الْفَرِيضَةُ، فَمَا بَلَغَ سِهَامَهَا، أُعْطِيَ الْمُوصَى لَهُ سَهْمًا كَأَحَدِهَا "

English Translation
It was narrated from Sayyar ibn Abi Karib that someone came to Shurayh and asked him about a man who bequeathed "a share" of his estate. He said: "The prescribed inheritance is calculated, and whatever number of shares it amounts to — the bequest recipient is given one share equal to one of them."
