ي رَجُلٍ قَالَ : أَحَدُ غُلَامَيَّ حُرٌّ ثُمَّ مَاتَ، وَلَمْ يُبَيِّنْ، قَالَ :الْوَرَثَةُ بِمَنْزِلَتِهِ يُعْتِقُونَ أَيَّهُمَا أَحَبُّوا "

English Translation

It was narrated from al-Sha'bi that he said concerning a man who said: "One of my two slaves is free," then died without specifying which one: "The heirs stand in his place — they free whichever they wish."
