English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Wa'il, from 'Abdullah (ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet ﷺ, that he said: "How wretched it is for any of you to say: 'I have forgotten such and such a verse.' Rather, he was caused to forget it. Strive to remember the Quran — for it escapes from men's hearts more swiftly than camels slip their hobbles."
