أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْقَارِظِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ" نَهَى عَنْ قَتْلِ الضِّفْدَعِ "

English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Said al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Prophet ﷺ passed by a man who was dragging a sheep by its ear. He said to him: 'Take it by its ear, not by its ear!' — meaning, take hold of it properly.
