Hadith #133
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ
حَدَّثَنَا شَهْرٌ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ حَرَمٌ وَحَرَمِي الْمَدِينَةُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أُحَرِّمُهَا بِحُرَمِكَ أَنْ لَا يُؤْوَى فِيهَا مُحْدِثٌ وَلَا يُخْتَلَى خَلَاهَا وَلَا يُعْضَدُ شَوْكُهَا وَلَا تُؤْخَذُ لُقَطَتُهَا إِلَّا لِمُنْشِدٍ

English Translation
Abu al-Nadr narrated to us, 'Abd al-Hamid narrated to us, Shahr said: Ibn 'Abbas رضي الله عنهما said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Every prophet had a sanctuary (haram), and my sanctuary is Madinah. O Allah, I declare it sacred by Your sanctity. Its thorny bushes are not to be cut, its game is not to be hunted, and its lost property is not to be picked up except by one who announces it.'
