حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ إِدْرِيسَ بْنِ سِنَانَ الْيَمَانِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَهْبِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ سَأَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جِبْرِيلَ أ
َنْ يَرَاهُ فِي صُورَتِهِ فَقَالَ ادْعُ رَبَّكَ قَالَ فَدَعَا رَبَّهُ قَالَ فَطَلَعَ عَلَيْهِ سَوَادٌ مِنْ قِبَلِ الْمَشْرِقِ قَالَ فَجَعَلَ يَرْتَفِعُ وَيَنْتَشِرُ قَالَ فَلَمَّا رَآهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَعِقَ فَأَتَاهُ فَنَعَشَهُ وَمَسَحَ الْبُزَاقَ عَنْ شِدْقَيْهِ

English Translation
Yahya ibn Adam narrated to us, Abu Bakr ibn 'Ayyash narrated to us, from Idris ibn Sinan al-Yamani, from his father Wahb ibn Munabbih, from Ibn 'Abbas رضي الله عنهما who said: the Prophet ﷺ asked Jibril عليه السلام: 'What prevents you from visiting us more often?' So the verse was revealed: 'And We descend not except by the command of your Lord. To Him belongs what is before us and what is behind us and what is in between. And your Lord is never forgetful.' [19:64]
