English Translation

Muhammad ibn 'Ubayd narrated to us, 'Uthman ibn Hakim narrated to us who said: I asked Sa'id ibn Jubayr about fasting in Rajab, what do you think of it? He said: Ibn 'Abbas رضي الله عنهما narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to fast until we would say he will not break his fast, and he would break his fast until we would say he will not fast. [Meaning he fasted extensively in some months and broke his fast extensively in others, with no specific designation for Rajab.]
