English Translation

'Affan narrated to us, Abu 'Awanah narrated to us, from Mukhawwal ibn Rashid, from Muslim al-Batin, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas رضي الله عنهما that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to combine Dhuhr with 'Asr, and Maghrib with 'Isha, in Madinah without being in a state of fear or travel. It was said to Ibn 'Abbas: What did he intend by that? He said: He intended to remove hardship from his ummah.
