حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ وَهُوَ فِي قُبَّةٍ يَوْمَ بَد
ْرٍ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَنْشُدُكَ عَهْدَكَ وَوَعْدَكَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ شِئْتَ لَمْ تُعْبَدْ بَعْدَ الْيَوْمِ فَأَخَذَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ بِيَدِهِ فَقَالَ حَسْبُكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَدْ أَلْحَحْتَ عَلَى رَبِّكَ وَهُوَ يَثِبُ فِي الدِّرْعِ فَخَرَجَ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ { سَيُهْزَمُ الْجَمْعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ الدُّبُرَ }

English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, Wuhayb narrated to us, Khalid narrated to us, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas رضي الله عنهما that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said while in his tent on the Day of Badr: 'O Allah, I ask You for Your promise and covenant. O Allah, if You will that You are not worshipped...' Then Abu Bakr took his hand and said: 'That is enough, O Messenger of Allah, you have earnestly implored your Lord.' the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out wearing his armor saying: 'The multitude will be defeated and they will turn their backs.'
