English Translation
Muhammad ibn Mus'ab narrated to us, al-Awza'i narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from 'Ubaydullah, from Ibn 'Abbas رضي الله عنهما who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by a dead sheep that had been given as charity to the freed slave of Maymunah. He said: 'Why did they not take its skin, tan it, and benefit from it?' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, it is dead.' He said: 'Only its eating is forbidden.'
