English Translation
Abu al-Mughirah narrated to us, al-Awza'i narrated to us, he said: It reached me that 'Ata ibn Abi Rabah said he heard Ibn 'Abbas رضي الله عنهما reporting that a man was wounded during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, then he had a nocturnal emission. He was told to perform ghusl (full bath), so he did and he died. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was told, he said: 'They killed him, may Allah kill them! Was not the cure for ignorance to ask? The cure for the afflicted is tayammum (dry ablution). He should have tied something over his wound, then wiped over it, and washed the rest of his body.'
